SHEDWOOD

“Shedwood” is a multi-sensory, cross-media physical theatre piece that challenges both perception and emotion. Inspired by the feminist novel “The Vegetarian” by freshly awarded Nobel Prize winner Han Kang, the work fuses dance, installation, video and sound to explore the plight of women in a patriarchal society and their pursuit of body autonomy. Drawing from this literature, “Shedwood” constructs a surreal world of violent aesthetics, exposing the brutal situation faced by women under structural violence. Through its innovative artistic approach and unique interpretation of “The Vegetarian”, “Shedwood” expands the expressive boundaries of contemporary physical theatre. Audiences are invited on a deeply immersive journey of female resistance, self- exploration, and power dynamics — becoming silent witnesses to a haunting spectacle of violence and transformation.
