HomepageMULTIMEDIA PERFORMANCE"404 Reading Club” is an audience-participatory spatial experimental performance that was shown publicly in London as part of the Architectural Association Interprofessional Studio's March event in 2024. Inspired by the hidden communications of people in resisting official ideology, the performance combines literature with video, sound, material, and body movement to create a spiritual connection between the audience and the performance that is beyond the verbal. The performance is organised as a ‘reading event’. ‘The Reading’ is divided into four thematic chapters that share information and emotions with the audience through the host's ‘reading' and guidance. In the process of reading, the audience's perspectives and identities are transformed, and they participate in a mystical ritual together with the performers. The ‘coded language’ is the key element of this work, which is ‘read’ by the audience in a multi-sensory way. A truly usable ‘secret language’ is also designed and applied to the performance.
